Pool Resurfacing in South Florida

Rough, stained or leaking plaster does not have to mean a new pool. We resurface pools across Palm Beach, Broward and Miami-Dade counties so yours looks, feels and performs like new again.

What pool resurfacing actually is

The inside of your pool is coated with a finish that holds the water, protects the shell and gives the pool its color. Over time that finish gets rough, stained, chalky or starts to flake. Resurfacing removes the worn layer and applies a new one, so the pool is smooth and watertight again.

It is also the best moment to upgrade. Many homeowners move from classic plaster to a quartz aggregate finish such as Diamond Brite® or to a glass-bead finish. You can compare the options on our quartz and gem finishes page, or read the plain-English breakdown in quartz vs glass-bead vs plaster.

Signs your pool is ready for resurfacing

  • A rough surface that scratches feet or swimsuits
  • Stains, blotchy color or a chalky white film that keeps coming back
  • Visible cracks, hollow spots or flaking and peeling areas
  • Water loss you cannot explain by evaporation
  • A finish that looks tired even after careful cleaning

South Florida is hard on pools. Strong sun, year-round swimming, heavy summer rain and often mineral-heavy water all put stress on a finish. If you see more than one of the signs above, a free estimate is a good next step.

Why the empty pool is your chance to fix things

Once the pool is drained, we can see the shell clearly. Cracks, leaks and uneven areas that are invisible under water become easy to spot and repair before the new finish goes on. Changing the finish color also changes how the water looks, from bright and tropical to deep and lagoon-like.

Darker finishes give water a deep, natural, lagoon-like look.

We work with homeowners, property managers and businesses. If you manage a hotel, HOA or club, see our commercial pool resurfacing page. While the pool is empty, it is also a sensible time to refresh the waterline tile or pool coping.

The process

How pool resurfacing works

  1. 01

    Estimate and inspection

We look at the pool, listen to what bothers you and talk through finish options. You get a clear estimate with no charge for it.

  2. 02

    Drain and surface preparation

The pool is drained, the old surface is prepared, and any cracks, leaks or uneven areas are repaired so the new finish bonds properly.

  3. 03

    Apply the new finish

The new finish is applied to the walls, floor and steps for a smooth, even surface in the color you chose.

  4. 04

    Refill, startup and care guidance

We refill the pool and explain how to start it up. The first weeks matter, so we point you to our startup care guide.

Questions homeowners ask

How much does pool resurfacing cost?

It depends on pool size and shape, the finish you choose, how much repair the shell needs and access to your property. We do not quote numbers over the web because two pools are rarely alike. Read our cost factors guide, then request a free estimate and we will explain every line.

How long will my pool be out of service?

It depends on the pool's condition, the repairs needed, the finish and the weather. South Florida rain can affect scheduling. During your free estimate we explain what to expect for your specific pool.

Do I need a permit?

Some cities and counties require permits for certain pool work and others do not. We will confirm whether your city or county requires a permit for your scope. HOA and condo rules can also apply, so check with your association early.

What materials can I choose from?

You can stay with classic plaster or upgrade to a quartz aggregate finish like Diamond Brite® or a glass-bead finish. Each has different looks, feel and care needs. See quartz and gem finishes for colors.

What warranty comes with a new finish?

Warranty terms depend on the finish and manufacturer. During your free estimate we explain the manufacturer's warranty terms for the finish you choose, plus the water chemistry habits that help any finish last for many years.
