Quartz and Gem Pool Finishes
The finish decides how your water looks, how the surface feels and how your pool ages. Choose from quartz aggregate colors and glass-bead gem colors for your South Florida pool.

Quartz or gem: what is the difference?
Quartz aggregate finishes, such as Diamond Brite®, mix cement with colored quartz. They offer a durable, smooth surface and a wide palette. Glass-bead finishes, which we call gem finishes, add glass beads for a sparkling, rich look that catches the light.
Both are upgrades over classic plaster. If you want the full comparison, read quartz vs glass-bead vs plaster.

Gem finish colors
Our glass-bead palette includes:
- Aqua Clear, Aqua Gem, Sky Blue and Double Sky Blue for light, tropical water
- Azure, Blue Gem, Capri, Catalina and Hawaiian for vivid, saturated blues
- Emerald Sea and Lagoon for a natural, lagoon-like look
- Bone, White Gem and French Silver for soft, bright tones
Quartz finish colors
The quartz palette runs from clean and classic to deep and dramatic:
- Classic White, Ivory and French Gray for timeless, bright pools
- Aqua Blue, Aqua Quartz and Tahoe Blue for clear tropical blues
- Blue Quartz, Super Blue and Marlin Blue for richer blues
- Midnight Blue, Onyx and Verde for dark, dramatic water

How to choose a color for your pool
Light finishes tend to give bright, shallow-looking water. Darker finishes give depth and reflect the sky and landscaping. Surroundings matter too: a screened pool in shade looks different from a free-form pool in full Florida sun, and photos only go so far. We can talk through samples at your free estimate.
Maintenance habits differ a little between finishes, but the basics are the same: balanced water, regular brushing and care in the first weeks after filling. We walk you through it so the color stays even and the surface stays smooth.
A color change usually happens as part of pool resurfacing. Pair a new finish with fresh waterline tile for a complete look. Browse more in our portfolio, or request a free estimate to see samples. We serve Broward, Palm Beach and Miami-Dade counties.
The process
How quartz & gem finishes works
- 01
Talk through colors and samples
We discuss how you use the pool, what you like about the current look and which quartz or gem colors suit your yard.
- 02
Prepare the surface
The pool is drained and the old finish is prepared. Repairs to the shell come first so the new finish has a sound base.
- 03
Apply the finish
Your chosen quartz or glass-bead finish goes on the walls, floor and steps for an even color throughout.
- 04
Fill, start up and protect the color
We refill the pool and guide you through startup. Following the startup care guide helps the color cure evenly.
Questions homeowners ask
Will the color look the same as the sample?
Water depth, sunlight, shade, deck color and landscaping all change how a finish appears once filled. Samples are a guide, and photos of similar pools help. We talk through what to expect at your free estimate.
How much more do quartz or gem finishes cost than plaster?
Pricing depends on the finish you choose, your pool's size and shape, and the prep work needed. We do not quote numbers online. Our cost factors guide explains the drivers, and a free estimate gives you real numbers.
How long does a color change take?
It depends on pool size, repairs needed, the finish and weather. We explain the schedule for your pool during the free estimate.
Is a permit needed to change finishes?
That depends on your city or county and the scope of work. We will confirm whether your city or county requires a permit for your scope, and remind you to check HOA or condo rules.
Does the finish carry a warranty?
Warranty terms vary by manufacturer and finish. We explain the manufacturer's warranty terms for the finish you choose during your free estimate. Good water chemistry is the habit that helps any finish last for many years.
